Spending $1,000: where card costs differ

Fix the card edition, spending asset and merchant currency before comparing rates. Zero FX markup describes one cost, not free funding, conversion and settlement. The examples below explain fees before rewards; they are not final transaction quotes.

USD purchases can still incur fees

For an approved Bitget Wallet APAC card already funded with enough balance, a $1,000 USD purchase under the terms reviewed on September 22, 2026 implies about $0.50–$2 in conversion charges at 0.05%–0.2%. No additional FX charge does not mean zero cost.

This estimates the purchase conversion charge only. Earlier crypto purchase spreads, transfer network fees, issuance and membership costs are outside it. Costs incurred before funding the card remain part of your total cost.

Non-USD purchases add another layer

For the same APAC card billed in SGD, assume the purchase principal equals $1,000 at Visa’s settlement rate. Its 1.7% FX markup is approximately $17. Applying both percentage charges separately to that principal gives an illustrative $17.50–$19 total. Actual fee bases, settlement and rounding can differ. No live SGD/USD rate is assumed.

ether.fi Core lists an approximately 1% base fee plus a 0–0.5% tier markup for other currencies. Its current EUR pilot waives FX markup on purchases actually billed in EUR, including payments from USDC or EURC. Currency conversion still occurs and merchant conversion charges are outside the waiver. This EUR rule does not apply to SGD.

Fixed fees matter on small purchases

KAST adds $0.10 to non-USD purchases below $25. For a qualifying non-USD purchase equivalent to $20 at settlement, its 0.5%–1.75% FX fee plus that fixed charge gives an illustrative $0.20–$0.45, or 1%–2.25% of the principal, before other costs and rewards.

For small subscriptions, check fixed and declined-payment fees first. For larger travel purchases, focus on FX markup, settlement rates and refund terms. Sorting a single percentage will miss these differences.
